Gender and Its Discontents: The New School Gender and Sexuality Studies Institute spring speaker’s series features Pani Farvid, Ph.D. an Associate Professor of Applied Psychology, at The New School. Her research and teaching sits at the intersection of race, gender, sexuality and technology - paying close attention to fringe and emerging intimacies and identities.
She is the founder/director of The SexTech Lab, which addresses various intersections of contemporary interpersonal, social and political change. As well as being a frequent consultant to policy makers and private companies. Dr. Farvid is widely published, inside and outside of academia, and has a sole-authored booked coming out on the Psychology of Heterosexuality as well as an edited collection on Sexual Racism.
The Gender and Its Discontents speaker’s series, is a co-hosted by the Culture and Media department at Eugene Lang College and the Gender and Sexualities Institute at The New School for Social Research, of which the Gender Minor at Lang is a co-partner.
